Coming from the employer side of benefits has made me passionate about the importance of all employees understanding, utilizing and valuing their company-provided benefits. Given that saving for retirement is critical to be able to retire when you are ready, my career has focused on building employee knowledge in understanding their need to actively plan and save. How to accomplish this is a challenge when your paycheck doesn't seem to go far enough. Keeping this in mind, I have designed programs which link good financial health to keeping oneself healthy for the long term. To this end, I was one of the first to introduce CDHP plans in the mid-2000s as well as the concept of wellness using health assessments. This coupled with my primary interest in financial well-being led me to combine the two initiatives and to become an early adopter of a more holistic type of wellness comprised of not only physical and emotional health, but also financial health. My team led many award-winning innovative solutions that delivered results for our employees and the company.
